The Association for Astronomy invites you to observe the cosmos with your own eyes at the Macquarie University Astronomical Observatory. View planets, binary stars, star clusters, nebulae, and bright galaxies through our 12" and 16" professional in-dome telescopes.  You will be guided by our trained astronomy staff, so bring any questions you may have.  All are welcome, but capacity is limited to 40 people, so book early!

The Astronomical Observatory is located on Macquarie University campus across from the Sport & Aquatic Centre.  The observatory can be accessed by Gymnasium Road, off the corner of Culloden and Waterloo Roads.  Turn onto Gymnasium Road at the roundabout, then take the first left onto the parking lot.  You must get a parking ticket, which are free for 2 hours and after 8:00 pm.  The observatory is at the far northeast end of the parking lot.

Refund Policy

If the weather is bad, we will make a call by 5:00 pm on the day of the event to cancel the session.  You will be given a 100% refund, which takes three (3) business days to be transferred back into your account.

If observing is called off, we will post the cancellation on Facebook, Twitter, and our Website.

If you wish to cancel your ticket, please contact us at starinfo@mq.edu.au by 12:00 pm (Noon) on the day of the event and you will be given a full refund.
